The fifth major version of the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) specification, FHIR R5, has been officially released as of March 27, 2023.
FHIR R5 brings new resources including
Transport and extends existing resources with new properties and data types. The new resources have been added to the FHIR specification to cover a wide range of healthcare-related areas, including genetics, nutrition, and transportation.
The FHIR specification has been developed by Health Level Seven, International (HL7) and the FHIR community. This latest release of the FHIR specification is a culmination of many months of work by the standard contributors.
