FHIR is a modern, web-based standard for exchanging healthcare information electronically. It is designed to be easy to implement and to work well with other modern technologies, such as web APIs and mobile applications. FHIR is rapidly gaining adoption across the healthcare industry, with many organizations and vendors developing FHIR-based applications and tools.
To further promote the adoption of FHIR and ensure consistency and interoperability across different implementations, national FHIR implementation guides are being developed. These guides provide a set of rules, standards, and best practices for implementing FHIR in a specific country or region. They are typically developed through collaboration between healthcare stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, and standards organizations.
